SWARGADEO CHAOLUNG SIU-KA-PHA SAMANWAY KSHETRA

The Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha was the first Tai-Ahom king in medieval Assam and established the Ahom kingdom by declaring Capital at Che-rai-doi (Charaideo) in 1253 A.D. He had a brave heart with great courage, determination, and unparalleled leadership. His will power led him to overcome all obstacles and create his own kingdom and lineage in an unknown land, from Mong Mao to Charaideo. He fought many battles against the Nagas in Khamjang and emerged victorious every time. But at the same time he believed in developing an amicable relationship to make his reign more powerful and he built the foundation of Bor Axom and tied all the tribal and non- tribal groups together. The Ahom kingdom successfully ruled Assam for around 600 years.

The Swargadeo Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha Samanway Kshetra located in Mohbondha area on the western edge of Jorhat District, Assam. It was established in the memory of the great Tai Ahom King Siu-Ka-Pha on 2015, 2nd December. The kshetra consists of various buildings constructed with a dynamic and modern way. These consists a planned administrative building, the Museum, Siu-Ka-Pha statue building, a magnificent auditorium, art gallery, handloom and craft centre, and ethnic restaurant etc. The Siu-Ka-Pha auditorium: It is the most magnificent auditorium with the capacity of 836 comfortable seats, air-conditioned, lighting, sound, VIP room etc. are available. One multiplex also is in process of establishment.



The Heritage Museum: It is a three stored building and there are four galleries open for public spread in ground floors and first floors. The museum consists of various historical artifacts. Physical collection around 350 including textile, coins, Manuscript, weapon, ethnographic, everyday objects etc. The Colorful Heritages of North East India are also showcased there. There also showcased various rites and rituals of Tai-Ahom people.

The Art Gallery: The art gallery of the kshetra is very magnificent and colorful. There showcasing the Tai-Ahom Prince Siu-Ka-Pha’s life story from his birth to arriving to the Brahmaputra valley and established the kingdom through the marvelous artistic paintings. There also showcasing our pride greatest artist of Assam Late Nilpawan Baruah’s paintings.

The Siu-Ka-Pha Auditorium: It is the most magnificent auditorium with the capacity of 836 comfortable seats, air-conditioned, lighting, sound, VIP room etc. are available. One multiplex also is in process of establishment.

The Handloom and Craft centre: The main motive of this centre to promote multi fashioned ethnic handlooms and craft products. Go hand in hand with the handloom heritage of Assam and various craft designs of ethnic groups of Assam. There have been installed various stalls of ethnic handloom and crafts. In the third floor of the building there is a restaurant name- Juihal, an ethnic restaurant. You can taste there the ultimate ethnic food.

Guest House: Clean homely with very good food and comfort. We provide everything you need to enjoy your stay. There are a total of 14 air-conditioned rooms, each equipped with modern comforts and essential amenities.
